The highlight of CTOG’s weekly meetings is the speaker program. Topics include history, health, politics, the arts, media and world affairs. The quality and variety of the presentations are something we all look forward to. In turn, speakers tell us that the audience, usually over 100, is informed and engaged.
Speakers’ presentations are usually delivered in-person the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Hartford, though, occasionally, speakers may join the group on a remote basis via Zoom. The CTOG’s weekly meetings are typically conducted on a hybrid basis with many CTOG members attending in-person while others participate online via Zoom. Our meetings start promptly at 10:30 a.m., with the speaker program commencing at about 10:45 a.m., followed by a lively Q&A session. Our meetings end at 11:45 noon. Importantly, spouses and significant others are cordially invited to attend the speaker part of our weekly meetings.
Under the leadership of our Speaker Chairman, Clem Sayers and his committee, we expect to have another outstanding program for the 2024 – 2025 year. Everyone is encouraged to nominate speakers. It could be a a colleague, relative or even yourself. It could also be a person you read about or heard elsewhere – simply let Clem know and he’ll take it from there.
